History of India

India's historical narrative is extensive and multifaceted, spanning millennia and characterised by a plethora of civilisations, empires, and cultural advancements. Beginning with the ancient Aryan civilisation over more than 5000 years ago and progressing through the Mughal invasion in the 9th century.   This was followed the era of the British Raj, to the attainment of indep-endence, India's trajectory is distinguished by epochs of both unity and discord, as well as phases of great prosperity and imposed strife.
